I often tell my clients that there is a difference between exercise and physical activity. Exercise is done when you have a set goal such as walking for 30 minutes to improve your endurance. Whereas, physical activity is any task that requires movement of the body that is not goal driven such as, carrying a flower pot to put in the window. Your goal for better health should include both areas. One feeds the other if you want to look at it that way. Exercise will improve the way you perform physical activity.

I have always said, "Walking/Jogging is a poor man's sport". Not to say that it is less valuable, in fact, it could be the most valuable form of exercise you do. But this form of exercise is one that you don't need a ton of equipment or an expensive gym membership. When I was an undergraduate and was broke most of the time I would often use this as my form of exercise. So, get out and try it today. All it takes is putting one foot in front of the other.
